Introduction

Web-basket is a Linux-based software package for e-commerce on the World Wide Web. This software provides efficient mechanism of for maintaing user accounts, inventory, and orders for orders placed through the World Wide Web.

Web-basket maintains user accounts, product catalogs, and directly generates invoices for billing. The Catalog of products, user database, company database, shipping charges, and invoices are all stored in an industry-standard SQL database. The software includes features to automatically compute local sales tax and shipping charges.

The Web-Basket server suite includes a complete set of administration tools. These tools implement detailed accounting and billing algorithms to minimize or eliminate traditional paperwork. The catalog, current prices, shipping charges, sales tax rate, and billing information can all be modified by administrators of the site via an intuitive, web-based user-interface.
